Our First Geocache (Just Up The Street)
Arthur and I have started a Saturday tradition…geocaching.
I got interested in geocaching a couple of years ago, but I kind of let the hobby fall by the wayside, so to speak. As a way to get out more and as a way to spend some quality, father-son time with Arthur, I’m decided to go on weekly treasure hunts around the Fairbanks area.
Last Saturday, we tried to find a couple of caches on UAF campus. We had a nice hike through the university’s trails, but we didn’t end up finding either of the caches. It didn’t help that the mosquitoes were so bad I was afraid Arthur or I or both of us were going to be carried away.
Today we decided to try one closer to home. There’s a cache just up the street from our house. So we took a nice stroll up the street and found our first cache.
I’ll keep you updated as we find more. And in the future I’ll try to include some photos along with the map.

Very cool. A couple weeks back we printed out the info for the 10 closest to our house so we can get them on evening walks – but we haven’t started yet…

All Right, Already, I’m clueless. I know Aaron’s did it in Idaho or at least that’s my memory. But refresh it, what is geocaching? My brain’s not functioning all that well since the surgery–yeah, yeah, it never was all that functioning LOL.
